Raymond Mullaney, the founder and president of Equity Risk Sciences, has over 40 years of professional experience in the world of individual and institutional investing. After receiving his master’s degree from Stonybrook University, Ray quickly began making a name for himself in the financial world. With an interest in approaching investing his own way, Ray founded Capital Investors, Inc. in 1980 where his unique insight caught the eye of some of the largest publications in the country.
He has published hundreds of investment and financial reports which have been covered nationwide in the New York Times, the Boston Globe, Standard & Poor’s Pension Reporter, The Chicago Sun Times, USA Today, Nations Business, The Wall Street Journal and numerous additional media outlets. Most recently, Ray has written a series of 8 articles on risk management, which appeared in Senior Digest.
In 1986, The New York Times extensively quoted his Economic Report in a front-page article. In the same year, Ray served on President Reagan’s White House Conference on Small Business. He also served the Governors Advisory Committee for the State of Massachusetts, as well as on boards of public and private, profit and non-profit organizations.
In 2000, Ray founded and acted as president of Conservative Financial Counselors. He also presented research findings on accounting improprieties of two of America’s leading public companies to the Senior Counsel of the Securities Exchange Commission in Washington, DC. In addition, Ray served as a registered rep for Securities Research, Inc. from 2004 to 2005. In 2005, he began shifting his focus towards the mining and minerals sectors as the founder of Mullaney Management & Trust, where he would operate for the next 10 years.
In 2013, the idea for Equity Risk Sciences came to fruition with the founding of Ray Mullaney’s most ambitious project yet. The goal of ERS was to be not just another institutional investment risk analysis technology firm, but to provide investors with the most accurate risk analysis ever seen. ERS employs advanced mathematical modeling on big data; it identifies, measures, quantifies and rates the financial risks and price risk of individual stocks, industry sectors and major market indexes. We know of no other risk management system that is more reliable. Equity Risk Sciences serves as research partner for our sister firm, Nightingale Advisors, LLC.
